After over 12 years as a Small Business Development Center adviser, Karen started Karen Sharp Consulting.  She is the business adviser for the Wells Fargo Open for Business program hosted by Houston Community College.  She served as Adjunct Faculty - Marketing for 6 years at Lone Star College and currently teaches at the University of Houston Downtown.

Karen owns two businesses in which she assists clients with branding solutions, marketing, and cash flow consulting.  She has owned businesses for 24 years.

Prior to owning her business, Karen spent 14 years in information technology as a systems analysis, project management, and IT consulting and sales.  She worked for Shell Oil, Tenneco Oil, Informatics, Ansa Software, and BMC Software.

Karen earned her BS in Applied Science, Systems Analysis from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Karen is a Certified Global Business Professional through the NASBITE organization.
